A New Beachside Resort In Thailand Has Been Designed By Onion

Architecture and interior design firm Onion, have recently completed the Sala Samui Chaweng Beach Resort in Koh Samui, Thailand.

Stepping into the lobby, a guest can easily see the sea right away. A lounge area provides a place for guests to relax in the shade, while curved woven details form a unique ceiling accent.

On the ocean side of the resort, daybeds and umbrellas are located by the round ‘Moon Pool’, that has various levels that gradually get deeper towards the middle.

A wooden deck provides a place to dine outdoors overlooking the ocean.

Inside the restaurant, bamboo posts cover the walls, while the tent-like structure and woven maps create a relaxed dining environment.

Connecting the various parts of the hotel are wood lined walkways that contrast the white exterior of the hotel.

Other arched walkways are white with a glass railing that doesn’t obstruct the view.

Each hotel suite has a bright white interior with wood accents, much like the rest of the hotel interior.

Each room also has its own private swimming pool.

The arches that are featured throughout the hotel, can also be found in the rooms, like in this bathroom that looks out through to the bedroom.

In another hotel suite, a built-in couch sits next to the steps that lead out to the private pool, while a desk has been built into the headboard of the bed.

This hotel room, decorated similarly has sliding wood framed glass doors and windows that open to a private 22 sqm outdoor swimming pool.

Sitting beside the swimming pool is a daybed for relaxing.

This hotel suite also has a private outdoor bathtub.
